Roles and Responsibilities of ISSER Advisory Board Members

Advisory Board Members of the International Society for Sustainable Education Research (ISSER) are integral to the success of our conferences and academic initiatives. Members provide strategic input, academic expertise, and leadership to ensure high-quality, impactful events that advance the global dialogue on sustainable education and research.

Strategic & Programmatic Involvement:

• Shape the Conference Vision:
  Contribute to the design of the scientific agenda, thematic focus, and session structures aligned with ISSER’s mission and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Support Program Planning:
  Assist in preparing and refining the conference schedule, ensuring that sessions are impactful, well-aligned with the conference objectives, and effectively executed.

Academic & Speaking Opportunities:

• Serve as a Keynote Speaker or Session Chair:
  Advisory Board members may be invited to deliver keynote addresses, plenary talks, or serve as Session Chairs, contributing their thought leadership to the event and facilitating meaningful discussions.
• Identify and Invite Eminent Speakers:
  Recommend and connect the organizing committee with prominent scholars, industry leaders, or policy influencers for keynote, plenary, or guest speaker roles.
• Moderate and Facilitate Sessions:
  Introduce speakers, lead panel discussions, and guide Q&A sessions to ensure interactive and engaging conference experiences.

Collaboration & Outreach

• Promote Regional and Institutional Engagement:
  Encourage participation from universities, research institutions, and professional networks within your region.
• Support Participant Development:
  PMentor emerging researchers and promote knowledge-sharing across academia, policy, and practice.
• Facilitate Organizational Partnerships:
  Assist in building collaborative relationships between ISSER and other global or regional academic entities

Communication & Publicity Oversight

• Review Promotional Content:
  Collaborate with the Project Manager to assess marketing materials including social media posts, websites, flyers, and emailers for accuracy, alignment, and brand consistency.
• Amplify Visibility:
  Share conference updates within personal and professional networks to enhance event visibility and outreach.

Event Execution & Supervision

• Support Timely Execution:
  Supervise the execution of assigned responsibilities in alignment with the event timeline and objectives.
• Provide Advisory Guidance:
  Offer strategic advice to the organizing committee for quality improvement and innovative development of future ISSER initiatives.
